Barney Neighborhood House Senior Program has provided quality services to seniors and their families that reside in Wards I and IV of the District of Columbia, since 1981. This organization was selected, by the D.C. Office on Aging, to provide much needed services to the elderly.

The headquarters is located in the Northeast corner of Ward V with easy accessibility. Through utilizing our capabilities and networking with other organizations, we provide the elderly with comprehensive social services and nutrition program at 15 centers. The staff members receive annual training to strengthen their ability to serve the elderly.

One of the programs provided by the Barney Neighborhood House is the Recreation-Socialization Program for senior adults from the community. They enjoy recreation and socialization activities which include group sessions, health promotion, exercise and self improvement skills.

Barney Neighborhood House stays connected to the community by providing several annual forums, events and intergenerational programs. Barney Neighborhood House continues to enhance the quality and prolong the lives of the seniors that it serves.
